چکیده

We present a computational methodology (a novel Nyström approach based on use of a non-overlappingpatch technique and Chebyshev discretizations) for efficient solution of problems of acoustic and electromagnetic scattering by open surfaces. Our integral equation formulations (1) Incorporate, as ansatz, the singular nature of open-surface integral-equation solutions, and (2) For the Electric Field Integral Equation (EFIE), use analytical regularizers that effectively reduce the number of iterations required by iterative linear-algebra solution based on Krylovsubspace iterative solvers.

Efficient Solution of Acoustic and Electromagnetic Scattering Problems in Three-Dimensional Periodic Media

We present an accurate and efficient numerical method, based on integral Nyström discretizations, for the solution of three dimensional wave propagation problems in piece-wise homogeneous media that have two-dimensional (in-plane) periodicity (e.g. photonic crystal slabs). Our approach uses (1) A fast, high-order algorithm for evaluation of singular integral operators on surfaces in three-dimen...

Analytic Preconditioners for the Boundary Integral Solution of the Scattering of Acoustic Waves by Open Surfaces

This study is devoted to some numerical issues in the boundary integral solution of the scattering of an acoustic wave by an open surface. More precisely, it deals with the construction of a cheap analytical preconditioner to enhance the iterative solving of this kind of equation. Detailed attention is paid to bring out the reasons that make this construction much more difficult than for closed...

Sea Surfaces Scattering by Multi-Order Small-Slope Approximation: a Monte-Carlo and Analytical Comparison

L-band electromagnetic scattering from two-dimensional random rough sea surfaces are calculated by first- and second-order Small-Slope Approximation (SSA1, 2) methods. Both analytical and numerical computations are utilized to calculate incoherent normalized radar cross-section (NRCS) in mono- and bi-static cases. For evaluating inverse Fourier transform, inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) i...

اکستروژن سه بعدی به روش میدان خطوط لغزش

Many metal forming problems have been solved using the slip line field method but all of them have either been two-dimensional (plane strain or plain stress) or axisymmetric problems. In this paper a procedure has been proposed by which the slip line field solution to three dimensional problems of metal forming becomes possible. For this purpose the extrusion of shaped sections has been taken a...

Physical Optics Calculation of Electromagnetic Scattering From Haack Series Nose Cone

In this paper, the physical optics method is used to study the problem of electromagnetic scattering from Haack series nose cone. First, a meshing scheme is introduced which approximates the curvature of the surface by piecewise linear functions in both axial and rotational directions. This results in planar quadrilateral patches and enables efficient determination of the illuminated region and...
